I was very excited by the time I joined a catamaran sailing trip from North Malaysia to Bali. My travel route was like this: Flight from Jakarta to Singapore, then continue to Langkawi which is the most northern Island of West Malaysia. From there I jumped on a catamaran, sailing along the southwest coast of Sumatra and its gorgeous island archipelago with destination being the peaceful island of Bali.

The Last part would be the longest trip so far I have ever had on a sailing boat. According to our sailing itinerary we wouldn’t cross the mainland as I drew on the map below ….

Everything worked well and joined the entire trip from Langkawi until Bali. That would be longer than the one-week-sailing adventures I had up to that time. Great. What a gorgeous travel route, I thought and it was! Let the adventure continue. I am really happy about managing the schedule of my trips. Could set my departure from Singapore on the 28th, so I can enjoy the Singaporean Island to the fullest before setting out at the open sea.

Sailing itinerary, Langkawi to Bali

Well, that’s the adventure and the trust in life and in myself to do the right thing. For sure it gives a bit of adrenaline when I think about the night sails and I admit it is a particular lifestyle. And hey, do what you love, right!?

I will take the experience out of it to make the best for my future travel and life.

Traveling to a distant place to sail with people whom you don’t know at all, only from online chat and what your feeling gives to you … would you do that?

Here are some quick impressions from my sailing trip. Pictures were taken at Pulau Enggano, Sumatra. “Pulau” means Island and we used the island to have a stop and have a last provisioning before we set sails to Bali – a nonstop sailing trip was ahead …
